Treasure Hunt was organised by Ian and Christine
Scott and commenced at their lovely home which used to form part of
the Woolf 'Babe' Barnato's Adenrun Estate.
Wolf Barnato was a Kimberley Mines millionaire and one of the 1920s
'Bentley Boys', and owned Bentley before selling it to Rolls Royce.
Adenrun Hall burned down but the extensive terraced grounds can still be
seen in the lower photo left. Scott residence contains the original
coach and horses washing drive-through station.

Christine (left), with neighbour Jo, provided all entrants
with a free cup of coffee and a bacon buttie, which was much
appreciated by. Snacks were taken in their back garden while the car
were parked in the driveway.

The Treasure Hunt is a case of driving to a specified location,
parking, and walking to find the answers to clues defined on the questionnaire.
The first set of clues were to be found at the British Wildlife Centre
at Newchapel.

The second set of clues were to be found in
Turners Hill, starting at The Crown and walking around the green. One of
the questions was how many birds face east; found the birds but
confusing because from this side six face east but from the other side
as the shield is the other way, so NONE!
The third set of clues were to be found at
the nearby Tulleys Farm which used to be a big pick-your-own enterprise.
It subsequently grew via farm shop and tea rooms into a 'themed' venue
holding seasonal events, weddings and corporate events.

The only thing that slightly spoiled our day was
that the Pub had booked two car clubs on the same day and because
the Traction Owners Club arrived earlier and took possession of the car
park and restaurant, the
Manager decided that it was our fault because we had not booked.
A
very negative attitude by the Manager bearing
in mind that we were pre-aware that another club was also coming,
which we would not have known if we had
not booked,
and because we have been coming to the same
pub on the same day every year almost since the Society began!!
Traction Owners Club (TOC) meeting at same pub.
