The Great SVVS Summer Picnic was held again this year at Church
Farm, Horne, at the invitation of Julie and Bozi Mohacek. This year after the
six weeks of severe drought, it threatened to rain, so in the true SVVS tradition
most people stayed at home, just in case it did. In the event it did not rain, -
much, and some 26 interesting vehicles were on show with about 60 people seated in
the dry in the Tithe Barn. All visitors
received usual free glass of wine
and a hot dog before tucking into their own picnics. The SVVS Quiz raised £190 for the Alzheimers
Society. Very many thanks to all !! Julie and Bozi must be thanked
for working so hard to provide the picturesque venue and the Barn, Daniel for
doing all the cooking on the BBQ, and Tony Oakes and Tony Russell for manning
the bar.

definition picture The SVVS Quiz which traditionally has contributions to a chosen charity,
- this
year the Alzheimers Society, raised £190. Many thanks for all who donated. The
Quiz itself was twice a tie so it was decided to give a prize to each. The
winners were Mr & Mrs. James Walker, left on the photo above left, and the
Tester Family, shown right. Julie and Bozi Mohacek were presented with a bunch of
flowers and a bottle of plonk by Publicity Officer Tony Russell, middle photo.
The event was rounded up by Hon Treasurer Tony Oakes and his enormous Humber
dying on the way out. After much work and dismantling of various bits of the
vehicle by Rick Hone, Simon Bishop, the Tester family, and the Chairman, - and
pushing the impossibly heavy car in spongy grass field, it was determined that the starter had
jammed!!
