Our Membership Secretary Peter Clark is also the past Chairman of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Surrey Region, who meet at the Brooklands Motor Museum. Just like last year the JEC Regional Committee invited the SVVS to join them at their Thursday July meeting to display their cars along with JEC Jaguars. This year we were not able to visit the museum and we parked in the famous enclosure and the adjacent Motor Village. After kicking a few tyres, both sets of Members retired to the splendid Brooklands clubhouse 'Members Bar' and balcony with the fantastic view of the area.

Our Hon Secretary Malcolm Bailey forgot his camera so we are grateful to our Member Turgay Ali for letting us use his photos. Malcolm noted the following SVVS Members and cars present:  Peter Clark and Mary (in modern Nissan) and namesake Peter Clarke, probably in a Jag. Both Peters are also JEC members. Also there was Togs Ali (MGB roadster) and friend Rik (who took a membership form!). Chris Geary was there with his Healy Silverstone. Fraser Clayron and Linda came in their pristine 1966 Series II Land Rover. Also there was Hon Sec Malcolm Bailey in his Opel Manta.

Needless to say, there were also some rather nice Jags, particularly an early XK120 coupe and some early E-Types.  Regrettably, the anticipated conducted tour of the Motoring Village did not happen.
