:: [ SVVS Visit to Brooklands at the invitation of JEC - July 2011 ] ::

Our Member Peter Clark is also the Chairman of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club, Surrey Region, who meet at the Brooklands Motor Museum. Just like last year the JEC Regional Committee extended an invitation to the SVVS to join them at their Thursday July meeting in their oldies and to display them along with JEC Jaguars.

Some 15 proper SVVS cars, and a couple of moderns, attended a superb evening. The Mohacek/Hone clan arrived appropriately in a bevvie of Jaguars in XJS-XK8-XKR chronological order. The Mohaceks were accompanied by relatives Natasa and Filip visiting from Croatia. A couple of other SVVS Jags attended as well, as did  the waterfall Triumph, Herald, MGB, Austin Healey, Manta, Volvo, and Land Rover.  

During the evening Peter arranged for a guided tour of the Museum and for exhibits to be laid on for both sets of club members. Visitors were split into two groups, one visiting the aircraft hangar and the flying exhibits, and the other visiting the motor sheds housing the car / motorcycle /cycle exhibits. After more than adequate time to slowly peruse all the exhibits, the groups changed over. Many Thanks to JEC for a superb evening and many thanks to Brooklands Marshals for turning out to open the exhibits!
